Legion Auxiliary Unit 38

American Legion Auxiliary shines as an example of unselfish giving. With almost a million members from all walks of life, the Auxiliary administers hundreds of volunteer programs, gives tens of thousands of hours to its communities and to veterans, and raises millions of dollars to support its own programs as well as other worthwhile charities familiar to most Americans. It is all accomplished with volunteers.

If you are interested in joining the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 38, Please contact the Web Admin, Thomas Tschantz, for more information.

We are not a "Drinking Club"! (Old School of thought.) Service Organizations help to lobby for Veteran benefits, help them file their claims (then represent them on appeals), get them to appointments or help out in emergencies. We're often, a first line for many Veteran's when they can't think about where to go. We support many other charitable causes in our local communities. So, if you're a Veteran, and have been on the fence about joining, well....get off the damn fence and join! Know that your membership dues go to help our Brother's and Sister's, along with their families! If you're already a member, of any Service Organization, Thank You for continuing to serve others! - View Post

Folks, this is a public service message. If your loved one was a Veteran, LEO, Fire, or EMS and you would like to have the American Legion Riders assist with their funeral we have to be invited. Always an honor to assist, but never go where we aren't invited by a family member. - View Post

I knew the poppies were for our fallen soldiers, but I had no idea of the true meaning! Today I saw a man selling poppies stop a lady and asked if he could reposition her poppy. While doing so he told that lady she should wear the poppy on their right side; the red represents the blood of all those who gave their lives, the black represents the mourning of those who didn't have their loved ones return home, and the green leaf represents the grass and crops growing and future prosperity after the war destroyed so much. The leaf should be positioned at 11 o'clock to represent the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the time that World War One formally ended. He was worried that younger generations wouldn't understand this and his generation wouldn't be around for much longer to teach them. (copy and paste to share just like I did) 🌹 we must remember those from our current wars too! - View Post
